Passenger plane flying at 10000ft over London 'may have been hit by helium balloon'

A passenger jet may have hit a mystery helium balloon while flying at 10,000 ft over London airspace, a report has revealed. The Airbus A319 was descending to land at 241mph when the pilot spotted the sliver and purple object directly ahead at close range.
